New Vice President & Committee Changes

The Tennis Committee is pleased to announce, that Graeme Scott has joined our Executive as Vice President. Being a second generation member, I’m sure Graeme will bring energy and fresh ideas to the committee, helping us enhance your tennis experience.

With this appointment, Nancy Bowen will now assume the Presidential duties as I move to Past President.

As the retiring Past President, Brian Chapman can now step down from the board. Please join me in thanking Brian for his service to the club, and guidance to the Board over the past six years.

End of Season: Ladies Tennis Social
The Ladies Tennis Social will be hosted by Phyllis Lill on Peacock Island (B434) this year on Friday, August 30th starting at 5pm.
Please boat pool as docking is limited due to high water. Those coming from the south can meet at the SSCA docks at 4:30pm.
Phyllis will be providing the main course but would appreciate appetizers, sides, and desserts. BYOB as always. No Cost. 🙂

End of Season: Mens Tennis Social
The annual late August Mens Tennis BBQ will take place on Friday, August 30th with tennis at 4:00PM, drinks at 5:00PM and dinner at 6:00PM. To be inclusive, guests are always welcome.
Cost $35, RSVP to David Browne (dbrowne@mmr.ca or 416-520-7042) as best as one can.

Junior Round Robin – Saturday, August 23rd (3:30 – 5:30PM)

Last Call for Tennis with Kathy
Clinics will be offered on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 10:30AM for 4 people or put together a group and alternate times can be available.
Please email or text Cathy to confirm a spot. Privates are also available anytime based on availability. Contact Cathy to confirm and then book a court.
Payment will be made directly to Cathy via cash, cheque or etransfer (use password tennis). To contact Cathy text or call 416-578-8287 or email cathy@southeygroup.com or you can find her in the Brand Cottage or around the SSCA property!

Missing Tennis Racquet:

Cathie Singer is missing her Wilson tennis racquet. It was last seen at the tennis pavilion at the mixed tennis social on August 16th. The image below looks exactly like Cathie’s; except hers was re-strung at the Granite Club & likely has her name on it. This is most likely a simple mix up as many of us have similar racquets.
